Our Story

The Jochebed Meril Foundation (JMF) is a non-profit organization rooted in a deep-seated passion for safeguarding future generations. Registered in Kenya, JMF is propelled by the belief that every life holds the promise of a new dawn. Our initiation was driven by the pressing challenges that shadow the global landscape of health, education, environment, and employment—ranging from deteriorating mental and physical health, healthcare workforce shortages, and supply chain disruptions, to climate change, educational disparities, unemployment, and the absence of universal access.

These challenges, both immediate and long-term, demand innovative solutions to bridge the growing service demands, funding gaps, and disparities across health, education, environmental, and employment sectors. JMF stands as a beacon of hope, endeavoring to close the gap for underprivileged, vulnerable, and marginalized groups, especially women and children. We aim to empower these communities with the right information and access to quality healthcare, a sound environment, good governance, quality education, and financial empowerment while championing their rights and ensuring equity.

With a rich background in healthcare management and a career marked by impactful roles and accolades, Mercy’s leadership at JMF is a testament to her unwavering commitment to bettering healthcare, education, environment, and fashion for all.
Programmes Coordinator/ Senior Manager Strategy Development – Agundabweni Shivachi: With over a decade of experience in program management and a solid foundation in project management and human resources, Agundabweni Shivachi brings invaluable expertise to JMF. His background with diverse organizations enhances our strategic development and program implementation.
